The actor had reportedly approached law enforcement in December with claims that Simpson struck his face with a closed fist after he tried to get her out of the townhouse.
Hounsou also informed the cops that their two children were upstairs when the assault occurred, and while the actor was unsure if the kids saw it, he suggested they might have heard it. Weeks after his report at the station, officers visited the Atlanta property last Friday with an arrest warrant for Simpson.
She was subsequently taken into custody for simple assault and obstruction for allegedly giving officers false information when authorities confronted her. As reported by TMZ, officers who reported to the home claimed that the children were home during their visit and could hear them crying in the background.

The model and Hounsou were confirmed to be truly separated after Kimora made a post on social media affirming that the reports are accurate. She, however, noted that their split was amicable and they both remained committed to co-parenting their son, Kenzo Lee Hounsou.
As noted by PEOPLE, the model and her ex were never married, but they dated for over five years. Kimora and Hounsou first met in 2007 while she had just parted ways with her former husband, Russell Simmons.
By 2009, the couple announced to the world that they were expecting a son together, expanding the model’s beautiful brood to three kids. She shared two daughters, Ming and Aoki, with her estranged husband.

In the spirit of keeping things amicable, the former lovebirds reportedly got on a mission to draft out a convenient custody agreement for their baby boy.
The Blast shared that sources close to the couple revealed that their respective attorneys have tried to establish a private mediation session that will identify and outline the custody process.
Hounsou was spotted complaining on video that he could spend time with Kenzo on Father’s Day in 2009, implying that Kimora was essentially responsible for the disconnect between them on that day.
However, sources close to the mogul established that the actor was given permission to see his son at any time, but he has deliberately decided to stay away.
The actor’s traveling schedule, which involved him traveling out of the United States to Africa, often also caused a clash in their parenting agreements. Kenzo primarily resided in the United States with Kimora, and traveling outside the country would heavily affect his schedule.
