Fieri is a step closer to getting on his feet again. He revealed that he is doing better and can wait to get out of the wheelchair. These few weeks of immobility, especially with the holidays, made the celebrity chef reflect on the bliss of specific body abilities.

Fieri told PEOPLE, "It was definitely a trying holiday, but you know what, you get some real appreciation for having the ability to just get up and walk around and do everything you used to."

Being heavy on fitness, he added that another difficult part of his current condition is the fact that he cannot hike, saying the mere thought is driving him crazy. In his words:

"Eight weeks of no hiking has driven me kind of crazy. But I’m looking forward to it, trying to take it easy."

As he tries to take things easy, Fieri notes that the past eight weeks have not been a smooth ride, but he is looking forward to his full recovery.

Fieri was filming his new series "Flavor Town Food Fight" when he missed his step, causing his foot to get caught on the threshold, resulting in a brutal tear in his quad muscles.

The fall forced him into a split position, and the quad muscles located in front of his thigh suffered a brutal tear. "You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle, and it exploded," the chef previously explained.

The Blast reports that the magnitude of his injury shocked his doctors. He underwent emergency surgery in November and was then confined to a wheelchair. The chef was advised to keep weight off the leg and would start physical therapy to speed up the healing process.
