Kansas Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce shared a laugh with his brother Jason Kelce in a new episode of their podcast "New Heights," where they realized they both missed a reference from Taylor Swift's song, "Wood."

"Wood" is the ninth song in Swift's latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl," and references Travis and his "manhood."

On the January 21 episode of "New Heights," Jason read a comment from a fan who was disappointed about a missed merch opportunity for the podcast. "I can't believe none of the hoodies are called New Heights of Man-Hoodie," the fan wrote.

Jason was obviously confused about the comment, asking, "What's that mean? What's a man-hoodie? Is that a thing?"

Travis didn't understand the comment either and couldn't answer Jason. Fortunately, their producer chimed in and enlightened the brothers. "It's a 'Life of a Showgirl' reference, come on. 'New Heights of manhood,' it's the time you were referenced in the album," he explained to the Kelce brothers.

Travis took a moment to comprehend what he said before admitting that he missed that reference, adding, "Taylor's gonna kill me for not knowing that!"

When "The Life of a Showgirl" was released in October 2025, the response from Swifties was immediate. While many praised Swift for yet another phenomenal album, others noted it was a departure from her usual style. One of the most talked-about songs was "Wood," which features suggestive references and double entendres that suggest Swift is singing about her fiancé's manhood.

The Kelce brothers also talked about the song in their podcast when it came out, with Jason jokingly asking his brother whether he felt "cocky" about being referenced in a song. Travis, feigning innocence, answered, "I love that girl, so what do you mean?" to which Jason replied that it wasn't just about him, but his "appendage."

"Redwood tree, it ain't hard to see/His love was the key that opened my thighs," Swift sings in the song. Meanwhile, the lyric that sparked the fan's idea about "New Heights" merch goes, "New Heights of manhood/I ain't gonna knock on wood."

While making rounds to promote her album last year, Swift shared how "Wood" came about. While talking to Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," the singer said that she wanted to write a "timeless" song.

"It started out in a very innocent place," she explained. She was thinking of writing about superstitions, such as knocking on wood, but that idea evolved into the risque song.

Swift added that she was just "vibing" while working on the song, and that was what she came up with. "I don't know how we got there. But I love this song so much," she gushed.

Travis kept it PG when he shared his thoughts about the song on "New Heights" with his brother. He said the song was "great" and talked about its fantastic beat. When it came to the innuendos, however, he chose to keep mum. Jason, on the other hand, said, "I think inserting wood innuendos is always childish enough for me that I can get on board with that."

Jason's wife, Kylie Kelce, also expressed her opinion about the song in her own podcast, "Not Gonna Lie," wherein she said that while it was just too much information about her brother-in-law, it's one of her favorite tracks on the album. "Guys, yes, 1,000%, yes! That's women supporting women," she exclaimed.

While the Kelce brothers' mother, Donna, hasn't specifically shared her thoughts about "Wood," she previously commented on Swift's body of work and described her as a "very talented woman," adding that her favorite song is "Shake It Off."

Kelce and Swift announced their engagement in August 2025 via an Instagram photo of the two of them shortly after Swift said "Yes!" The football player proposed in the backyard of their home, which was decked in beautiful floral arrangements.

There aren't many details revealed about their wedding plans, but according to a report from The Daily Mail, the timing of the wedding is dependent on whether Kelce decides to retire, a decision that he will reportedly make after the Super Bowl.
