Time and age have nothing on Sarah Jessica Parker's romantic side.

The actress gave viewers a rare sighting of a public display of affection, signaling that she and her husband, Matthew Broderick, still got it. The love birds, who generally restrict their open romantic gestures to the minimum, flipped the switch right before the cameras. 

Sarah Jessica Parker said 'I do' to the love of her life back in 1997. They met in 1991 and began dating shortly after.  The couple shares three kids: a son, James Wilkie, and twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta.

On Thursday evening, Parker and her husband attended the Golden Eve at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, where she was honored with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award.

The actress then made a rare public display of affection by planting a passionate kiss on the lips of her husband, Broderick. This move was indeed surprising to many, as the pair generally keeps their affectionate acts low-key. In public, they are only seen holding hands.

Photos uploaded by The Daily Mail show the actress's hand placed tenderly on her partner's neck and face while his hand gently held her waist. Their eyes closed as they leaned in for the kiss, sharing a warm hug as well.

The Actress Expressed Excitement To Play Her Popular Character Again

Parker previously shared that she was keen on returning to screens to play her "Sex and the City" character again. The decision, though, does not lie in her hands but in that of the creator, Michael Patrick King.

However, she disclosed that King is not in tune with her excitement, stating that he is not thinking about a future Sex and the City project at the moment.

The last time Parker played her iconic character, Carrie Bradshaw, was on the show's sequel series "And Just Like That." Her feelings about returning as Carrie on another project for the show were revealed after the sequel wrapped up its three seasons in 2025.

Concluding the project was tough for her and King. She disclosed that they both had to make the difficult decision to finish "And Just Like That."

A Glimpse Into The Many Years The Couple Have Shared

Parker and Broderick met through the actress' brothers in 1991 and bonded over their shared love for theatre. They were both working in Hollywood at the time. Years later, Broderick asked her out via voicemail, leaving a charming effect on the actress.

The pair made their first appearance on Broadway together in 1996, and a year later, they had their nuptials. Their wedding was a surprise ceremony held at N.Y.C.'s Angel Orensanz Synagogue.

PEOPLE share that the lovebirds invited their friends and family under the guise that it was just a party. In the end, Parker, clad in a black dress, tied the knot with the love of her life. 

The couple was blessed with their first child and only son, James, in 2002, and seven years later, welcomed their twin daughters Tabitha and Marion via surrogate.

Nicholas Cage looked back on his early romantic ordeals and couldn't help but remember Parker. She had earlier revealed that they had dated briefly before she met Broderick. 

He noted that the romance was short-lived and things did not work out after he had dinner with Parker's mom back then in the early 90s. "I cared about Sarah, but I don't think I passed the mom test," Cage said, recalling the moment he knew they had no future together.

The Blast reported that their romance sparked while filming "Honeymoon in Vegas," but the actor did not hear from her again after he met her mother.
