'Mad Men' Star Reveals Struggle With Neurological Disorder And Calls Out Family Member's 'Unkind' Behavior

January Jones revealed in a candid Instagram video that she has struggled with a neurological condition her entire life.
In the clip, the actress joked darkly about how her brother-in-law's constant chip-crunching pushes her to the edge due to the condition.
January Jones also recently discussed freezing her eggs after having her son Xander, saying it eased pressure about her future.
January Jones Opens Up About Her Misophonia Condition

January Jones, best known for her role as Betty Draper on "Mad Men," has opened up about a health issue she's been dealing with for years, and one family member who isn't taking it seriously.
In an Instagram video shared Thursday, the 47-year-old actress revealed, "I'd like to talk about something that I've been struggling with my whole life, which is called misophonia. My whole life. And it's gotten progressively worse over the years."
The condition causes extreme discomfort, anxiety, or disgust when certain sounds are heard.
Jones also called out a brother-in-law who frequently eats noisy snacks around her, saying, "His favorite food is chips. Just all the time, eating chips."
She added that she has talked to him "many times" about his noisy snack, but he seems to find it amusing, turning it into a running joke at her expense.
January Jones Says Her Brother-In-Law's Behavior Is 'Really Unkind'
In Jones' video, she admitted that she felt her brother-in-law's chip-eating behavior was "really unkind to [her] issue and also very dangerous for him."
This led her to joke, "What I didn't do today was record this video inside a prison because I've imagined many ways to do it, too. But I haven't. I didn't. Not yet."
The Emmy-nominated actress then acknowledged her brother-in-law's positive traits.
She said, "He's otherwise a really nice guy, and it's his birthday today, so happy birthday! I hope you're eating a f-ckload of chips."
The Actress's Brother-In-Law And Fans Reacted To Her Comment About Her Misophonia Condition

Jones tagged her brother-in-law, Tyler King, who later shared the video on his Instagram Stories.
He responded, writing, "To be fair, I do try to crunch quietly. But every now and then, yes, I do think it's funny… thanks for the birthday (threat?) wish!"
The actress's followers flocked to the comments section to share that they, too, battle with the disorder.
"I have it too. It's so hard at times. Really great to hear someone openly talk about it in this way," one user wrote.
They continued, "I genuinely, for years since I was a child, thought it was just me, and as I've gotten older, realized it's an actual thing. Which actually needs support from friends and family."
January Jones Shares Rare Outing With Son Xander and Opens Up About Raising Him In A Female-Led Home

Earlier this year, Jones made a rare public appearance with her 13-year-old son, Xander Dane Jones, at Oceana's 18th Annual SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna Beach, California.
The "God Is a Bullet" actress has never revealed Xander's father, telling The New York Times in 2013, "That's my son's business, not the public's."
She previously joked to Red Magazine in 2017 about the abundance of female energy in her home, noting that her son gets plenty of "bro time" with neighborhood dads and her own youthful father.
"Xander has a lot of bro time with the neighbor dads and my dad, who is super young," she explained.
Jones emphasized the benefits of strong female influence in Xander's upbringing, saying, "It's good to have strong women around a man to teach him to respect women. He doesn't have a male person saying, 'Don't cry' or 'You throw like a girl.' All those sh-tty things that dads accidentally do."
The Actress Reveals Why She Chose To Freeze Her Eggs After Welcoming Her Son

During an episode of the "Race to 35" podcast, Jones opened up about her choice to freeze her eggs after welcoming her son, Xander.
She explained that the decision was rooted in easing the pressure she felt about her future. "I already had my son, and I just wanted to alleviate any pressure on myself," she said.
Jones noted that many women tend to have "stories" in their minds of their "plan" for life, marriage, family, and kids.
"I had an idea, but nothing ever goes to plan. So I just thought, to get rid of that weight, I wanted to do it," the actress shared, per Woman&Home.
Jones also described the process in detail, explaining that she had to give herself hormone injections for 8 to 11 days before the procedure. While a normal cycle produces just one egg, the medication stimulates the ovaries to release several at once, increasing the chances of retrieving viable eggs.
