Kate Winslet Maintains Stance On Weight Loss Drug Ozempic After One Year

Kate Winslet remains unconvinced that women need injectables to look or feel good about themselves.
The "Titanic" actress recently slammed the entertainment industry's growing obsession with perfection, particularly the use of weight loss drugs like Ozempic and other expensive cosmetic procedures.
Kate Winslet has been a longtime advocate for aging and body positivity, frequently inspiring others to embrace their natural bodies rather than chasing the latest beauty trend.
Kate Winslet Slams Weight Loss Obsession As 'Frightening'

Winslet did not mince her words in a new interview when the topic of the latest cosmetic trends came up, particularly the use of injections for weight loss and beauty enhancement. "Oh, it's terrifying," she confessed, adding:
"It is devastating. If a person's self-esteem is so bound up in how they look, it's frightening."
Winslet told The Times that several women had hopped on the weight loss trend, some doing it for themselves while others were doing everything to not look like their authentic selves. "The disregard for one's health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever," she said.
The Hollywood Veteran Blames Social Media For Influencing The Growing Obsession

Winslet claimed people were becoming "obsessed with chasing an idea of perfection" just to get more traction on their social media platforms. "What idea of perfection are people aspiring to? I blame social media and its effect on mental health," she lamented.
The TV personality described the situation as "heartbreaking," pointing out that many actresses and non-famous people were using injections either for weight loss or beauty enhancement without thinking of the potential consequences.
Winslet stressed that she had never undergone any procedures in either department and wouldn't cross the line in the future. She emphasized her love for aging naturally, claiming that the most beautiful women she knew were over 70.
The Academy Award Honoree Slammed Ozempic As 'Terrible'

Winslet first shared her distaste for Ozempic in 2024 during an interview with The New York Times Magazine. At the time, she did not know what Ozempic was and was appalled when she learned people injected it into their bodies to curb their appetite.
"Oh, my God. This sounds terrible. Let's eat some more things!" Winslet declared. She used her past to discredit the need for women for look a certain way, confessing that she once struggled with an eating disorder following comments about her weight.
After overcoming that dark period, Winslet noted that she did not let people talk about her weight, even compliments were not allowed as long as they were focused on her physique. She refused to be fat-shamed or pressured into changing herself to match a beauty standard.
The TV Personality Revealed The Secret Behind Her Increased Libido

Although Winslet doesn't support the use of weight loss drugs or cosmetic procedures, she happily underwent treatment to revitalize her sex life. The Blast covered the story in September 2024, revealing that she had undergone testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Winslet raved about the benefits of the procedure in an interview, claiming it gave her libido a significant boost. She advised women looking to reignite their sex drive to undergo the treatment after checking their hormone levels to be sure they needed the boost.
As for those who believed testosterone replacement therapy was a procedure for men, Winslet educated fans by reminding them that women produced testosterone, although in lower quantities than men. She noted that once these hormones were diminished, like eggs, they were gone for good and required replacement.
Kate Winslet's Husband Saved Her And Her Kids From A House Fire

Winslet's decision to undergo TRT stemmed from her ever-blossoming union with her third husband, Edward Smith. Last year, she opened up about their relationship and how they first met in a candid interview.
The Blast shared that Winslet recalled meeting her husband days before he saved her and her children from a house fire. The family had been staying on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands when lightning struck their home during a storm.
Scott had rushed to their rescue, saving Winslet and her kids from the raging fire that engulfed their home. It was that act of heroism that made the entertainer convinced Scott was the man of her dreams, and they eventually tied the knot in 2012.
Will Kate Winslet ever change her stance on weight loss drugs and cosmetic procedures?
