A day after the title of filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s next production was announced as ‘Dorothy’, the makers on Wednesday released the teaser of the upcoming period drama.

The teaser introduces two close friends, Karthi and Subbu, whose carefree lives appear to take a dramatic turn with the arrival of a woman named Dorothy, played by Keerthy Suresh. It hints at a growing conflict between the friends while suggesting themes of love, friendship and betrayal.

Sharing the teaser on social media, Keerthy Suresh described the film as a story about friendships tested by circumstances and the forces that seek to drive people apart.

Featuring music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, ‘Dorothy’ is set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before arriving in theatres on September 25.

The film is produced by Karthik Subbaraj under the Dhammam Films banner, alongside Guneet Monga and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment. Jyoti Deshpande is producing on behalf of Jio Studios.

The technical crew includes cinematographer S. Thirunavukkarasu, editor Ganesh Siva, production designer Kumar Gangappan and stunt choreographer Dinesh Subbarayan.
