Jessica Simpson Proudly Spills About Her 'Options' Amid Separation From Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson doesn't need to get on a dating show to find love again, and she's not afraid to say it. 

The actress recently commented on her love life amid her highly publicised split from Eric Johnson, whom she married in 2014. 

Despite being estranged, the couple is still putting their kids first, as they have been spotted spending quality family time on multiple occasions. 

What Did Jessica Simpson Say About Finding Love Again? 

Jessica Simpson was recently spotted at LAX, during which she had a brief chat with TMZ while signing autographs outside the airport. 

A reporter asked the 45-year-old singer if the rumors about her being on "The Bachelorette" were true, and she immediately made it known that she didn't need to get on a dating show to find her next Prince Charming. "I have options, I'm good," she said. 

The reporter further pressed on, asking whether Simpson would consider going on the show if she were given the green light, to which she replied, "I don't care about that." 

The singer's revelation comes on the heels of rumors that claimed she was in talks to make an appearance on "The Bachelorette." However, she has now made it known that she doesn't need help finding a new lover, following her split from Johnson. 

Earlier this month, she confirmed that she and the NFL player have been living separately and are focused on putting their children first in a statement that read:

“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.” 

A Family Member Recently Weighed In On Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson's Rumored Reconciliation 

Despite being separated, Simpson and Johnson have maintained a cordial relationship, which led to rumors that there might be a reconciliation in the cards for them. 

However, last month, Simpson's father, Joe, made it known that the possibility of his daughter getting back with her ex-partner was up to her and Johnson, and not him. 

He also revealed that while no one really knows what will become of his daughter's marriage, Johnson is always welcome in the family.

He further confirmed that Johnson had been invited to join their family for Christmas over the holidays, per The Blast.

Eric Johnson And Jessica Simpson Spent Thanksgiving Together 

Before Christmas, Johnson and Simpson also spent Thanksgiving together with the children as a family. 

According to The Blast, the singer was asked if Johnson was present during the holiday, and she confirmed that he was, stating that for them, their family unity would not be compromised for anything. 

The singer also shared that the children had a lovely time during Thanksgiving because it was a full house, and they got to spend time with their grandparents.

"Family first," she said, smiling. 

The Former Couple Might Be Headed Toward Divorce, Not A Reconciliation 

Despite the good energy between Simpson and Johnson, reports claim that they are slowly headed towards divorce, as they have yet to officially file for one.

As The Blast reported, they have had several disagreements on key family issues, especially their daughter, Maxwell's future in the film industry. 

Johnson is reportedly against Maxwell chasing an acting career, as he would like his children to focus on "their studies and sports." On the other hand, 

Simpson is reportedly in support of seeing Maxwell step foot in the industry, and this has caused even more tension between the former lovers. 

How Jessica Simpson Intends To Find Love Again 

Despite possibly being headed for divorce, the "I Wanna Love You Forever" actress isn't closing the door on love just yet. She opened up about navigating the dating pool once more and revealed that she would like to be set up by her friends. 

She noted that the dating scene isn't as friendly as it used to be; as such, she would like to find love through more traditional routes and not by "swiping through [dating] profiles" online. 

"It's a rough road out there in the dating world. I mean, I'm not getting on the apps yet… I would love for a friend to set me up," she said, per The Blast.
