Isiah Whitlock Jr., Veteran Character Actor and Spike Lee Collaborator, Dies at 71
Isiah Whitlock Jr., the veteran character actor who appeared in “The Wire,” “Veep” and multiple Spike Lee films, died Tuesday in New York, according to his manager Brian Liebman. He was 71.
Whitlock appeared in six Spike Lee joints, including “BlacKkKlansman” and “Da 5 Bloods”
“It is with tremendous sadness that I share the passing of my dear friend and client Isiah Whitlock Jr. If you knew him – you loved him. A brilliant actor and even better person. May his memory forever be a blessing. Our hearts are so broken. He will be very, very missed,” Liebman said in a statement posted on Instagram.
