At the Women in Entertainment Gala on December 3, Goldie Hawn took the stage to reflect on the deep connection she shared with Keaton, one strengthened by years of living as neighbors.

Hawn said living next to Keaton was comforting. "It was just the greatest thing knowing she was just below me," the 80-year-old actress said, adding that Keaton was always on her mind.

The “Snatched” actress then tearfully revisited the moment she heard Keaton was no more. “I happened to learn when I was in my backyard, and I went over to my backyard to my rose garden," she shared. "I just looked down. She can't be gone. She just cannot be gone. No one like that should ever die."

Hawn went on to gush about Keaton's vibrant personality, calling her a force of joy, which she described as "like lightning in a bottle." She praised Keaton's adaptable nature, saying she could thrive anywhere and do anything. "An extraordinary human being," Hawn added, per Page Six.

Hawn's tearful remembrance echoed the sorrow she had already shared just hours after Keaton's passing. Taking to Instagram, the “Housesitter” actress mourned the loss, admitting she wasn't ready to let go of her pal.

"How do we say goodbye?” Hawn asked. “What words can come to mind when your heart is shattered? You never liked praise, always so humble. But now you can't tell me to 'shut up,' honey. There was, and will be, no one like you."

After going over her years with the “Something’s Gotta Give” actress, Hawn ended her tribute with a final, heartfelt message. She wrote, "Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend. I'm going to miss the hell out of you."

Hawn wasn't the only friend shaken to the core by Keaton's passing, as actress Sarah Paulson also admitted she was struggling with the loss.

Appearing on the red carpet for the world premiere of Hulu's “All's Fair” in October, Paulson revealed that even the excitement of the night couldn't lift her spirits.

She was still processing the sad news about her close friend. "I was incredibly close to her, and this is a profoundly sad time for me," Paulson shared, per The Blast.

She attempted to articulate the depth of their bond, noting that while audiences admired Keaton as an exceptional performer, she was even more remarkable as a friend.

Adding to the many tributes pouring in, Keaton's former partner, Woody Allen, shared an emotional statement reflecting on how much she meant to him.

According to The Blast, Allen admitted he had to break the rules of grammar to capture Keaton's essence. He described her as "most unique," insisting she was truly incomparable, and had a one-of-a-kind presence the world would never see again.

Allen and Keaton dated in the early 1970s and went on to appear in eight films together. However, despite their relationship, he was reportedly unaware of Keaton’s health struggles before she took her last breath.

Although Keaton’s family confirmed her cause of death as pneumonia, sources revealed she had been dealing with ongoing conditions for some time, which she chose to keep private.

Her challenges followed shortly after her Los Angeles home was damaged in January's wildfires, prompting her to temporarily relocate to Palm Springs, where she kept a low profile while attempting to recover.

As The Blast reported, a longtime pal, Carole Bayer Sager, recalled visiting Keaton just weeks before her death, noting a visible decline in her appearance, saying she looked "very thin" and had lost significant weight.

Keaton died on October 11 after becoming unresponsive at her Los Angeles home. She was rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead. In her final months, she remained closely surrounded by family.
