In the caption, Coulier revealed that it was Stamos who delivered the devastating news on January 9, 2022, a moment that remains frozen in time for him. “Four years ago today, John Stamos called me and told me that Bob Saget died,” Coulier wrote. “I didn’t know how to react or process such devastating news. I cried. That’s all I could do.”

He admitted the reality didn’t fully hit all at once, but when it did, it came with a painful realization that life would never sound the same again without Saget’s presence.

Coulier reflected on the little things that now feel impossibly big, including the long, rambling voicemails Saget used to leave, filled with jokes that could lift his mood for an entire day. “There would no longer be those crazy funny voicemails from Bob that would go on for many minutes, making me laugh for the rest of my day,” he shared.

He also mourned the loss of their trio dynamic with Stamos, writing that the three of them would no longer get to be “The Three Stooges” or laugh so hard they had to leave the room. “The world lost my brother four years ago,” Coulier added.

Despite the years that have passed, Coulier admitted that Saget’s absence still sneaks up on him in quiet moments. “Sometimes I still pick up my phone and want to call to tell him something funny or how much I love him,” he wrote.

Describing their relationship as “funny, silly, stupid, immature and filled with love,” Coulier made it clear that Saget occupied a singular place in his life, one no one else could ever replace. “I have no one else like Bob in my life,” he said, “but he’s given me such great memories for the rest of it.”

Coulier closed his tribute by acknowledging that even four years later, the ache hasn’t dulled. “To say that I miss him is an understatement,” he wrote. “To say to the world about how much I loved him is exactly what Bob would’ve wanted.”

The post ended simply and powerfully with, “I love you, Bob.”

Included in the carousel was a particularly memorable throwback that captured the humor Coulier and Saget were known for. In the photo, the longtime friends pose side by side backstage, both dressed in lingerie as part of a comedic bit. Coulier sports a white camisole-style top paired with high-waisted briefs, while Saget leans into the gag, wearing a black corset-style top with sheer tights.

Elsewhere in the carousel, Coulier shared another throwback of him and Saget posing on the steps of the "Full House" house, both dressed in dark suits, with Saget wrapping his arms around Coulier from behind.

Saget died unexpectedly on January 9, 2022, at the age of 65. He was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, just hours after performing a stand-up comedy show as part of his national tour. Authorities later confirmed there was no foul play, determining that Saget suffered blunt head trauma consistent with an accidental fall.

Bob Saget was laid to rest just five days later in a private service attended by close friends, family, and former co-stars, including John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier, and Lori Loughlin.
