The media personality revealed her latest diagnosis to her social media fans yesterday, which she only recently discovered after a series of blood sample tests.
Bethenny Frankel had earlier touched on how a bacterial infection on her face caused her to cut short her holiday trip with her daughter and friends at St. Barths.
Bethenny Frankel Diagnosed With Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease
The social media influencer hopped on her TikTok account to share the vital information with her loved ones. According to her, her medical journey began with a plan to take her health more seriously and be very intentional about her blood tests.
The TV star noted that each time her blood test results come back from the laboratory, her kidney function always comes up low. Frankel revealed that she then went in for a doctor's appointment on the 22nd of January, where she was told that she has a kidney disease.
Frankel stated that her illness might have stemmed from a traumatic experience she had years ago due to an allergic attack or an autoimmune disease. She added that it could also be due to her frequent UTI infections, although she does not get them as much anymore.

Frankel continued that her situation may have also stemmed from her lack of drinking the required amount of water daily. She shared that the doctor left her with a warning to begin taking her water intake seriously and must drink up to 1.5 gallons daily, as that is a non-negotiable part of her treatment.
Frankel was also warned to stay away from pain-relieving drugs like ibuprofen and Advil, as well as supplements such as turmeric. The media personality assured her concerned fans that her confession was not to scare them, but to encourage them to take the necessary precautions for their own health.
"Be mindful. Maybe this is something I'll have to deal with forever, but I just wanted to tell you because I think it's important to go get all your bloodwork done," Frankel added.

As expected, fans rushed to the "Real Housewives of New York" alum to debate on reasons why she has kidney disease, including this fan who blamed the media personality's "starvation diet."
Another commenter encouraged the reality TV alum to chin up, as it may be reversed because they battled with stage 3b disease for a while, and it was resolved.
Another TikTok user urged Frankel to look into taking more Celtic salt to help her body hold on to water for longer. "Most of us live in a constant state of dehydration," this commenter noted, as Frankel wrote, "Period."
"Water is THE most important part of kidney health. Coming from a kidney transplant patient," one more fan expressed, in support of the instruction Frankel shared was given to her.
Someone in the comments gave a completely different opinion, which tilted towards her diagnosis getting resolved simply because she stopped taking one medication. Perhaps this is a nod to the doctor telling Frankel to stop taking some specific pills.
The Reality Star Recently Dealt With A Facial Infection
Frankel’s kidney diagnosis confession comes a few days after she revealed how she had to rush back home from vacation after suffering from a facial infection. As noted by The Blast, Frankel insisted that she got the nasty facial infection from the hotel towels at her St. Barth’s hotel.
The media personality revealed that her daughter, Bryn, took her out of her misery by instantly recognizing the rash because she previously had the same infection.
Frankel explained to her TikTok followers that it was very easy for bacteria to breed on hotel towels and sheets, which do not get cleaned immediately after use. She added that her dermatologist affirmed that even towels and sheets that do get cleaned still carry bacteria.
Other materials like makeup brushes, sponges, and powder puffs could also serve as a breeding ground for bacteria. Frankel stressed that she remained scarred by the incident and she will never use a hotel towel or sheet ever in her life.
Bethenny Frankel's Other Past Health Issues
Three years ago, PEOPLE reported that the Bravo alum took to her Instagram to speak about the daily hassles of living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.
According to her, Frankel established that she was not doing great and had gained lots of pounds in days while her body retained water. She noted that her condition worsened with COVID, and she still suffers from chronic dehydration despite drinking litres of water, kombucha, and Pedialyte.
"I have always experienced extremely low blood pressure and dehydration, but it's gotten exponentially worse," the star said at the time. She added that she even started taking IVs and avoided alcohol for months to help her manage the stardom, but her immediate and favorite places may present additional challenges.
In 2019, Bravo shared that the entrepreneur suffered an allergic attack when she accidentally ate some soup that contained fish flakes during her visit to her boyfriend in Boston. Frankel suffered an anaphylactic shock following the encounter and spent a few days in the ICU. In her words:
"I heard the [doctor at the hospital] say that if it had been five more minutes that I would have passed away. If no one was with me, I would have been dead."
