"If you fail this mission, you will never come home.?" Chroma has revealed the official trailer for an indie sci-fi film titled
The Infinite Husk, ready for release starting
in February in a few select theaters at first. It initially premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival last year and it also played at the Sitges Film Festival in the fall.
The Infinite Husk is described as a "gritty, sci-fi thriller" that interrogates the human experience through the exiled extraterrestrial consciousness, Vel. Forced to occupy the human body of this young Black woman on Earth, she is sent on a treacherous mission to spy on one of her own kind in order to uncover the potential threat of a new & dangerous type of science. Peace Ikediuba as the alien, with
Circus-Szalewski,
Geena Alexandra,
William Thomas Jones,
Jyl Haruye Kineshiro, and
Gary Lee Reed. This looks extra strange and kooky and a bit too abstract to actually make for a good film. I'm still quite curious about it – to see just how far they push this alien-inhabiting-a-human-body concept. //
