Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home owned by actor and director Rob Reiner in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday.

The ages of the two individuals found dead, 78 and 68, match those of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, though authorities have not identified the deceased or confirmed their identities.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC News, a man and a woman were discovered deceased inside the residence on Chadbourne Avenue Sunday afternoon. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that firefighters responded to a medical aid call at the home at approximately 3:38 p.m.

Authorities said the individuals were a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, though neither person has been publicly identified at this time.

Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived shortly after paramedics and initiated what was described as an “ambulance death investigation.” A large police presence was observed outside the property throughout the evening.

Property records confirm the Brentwood home is owned by Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, and neighbors told NBC News the couple reside at the address. However, officials have not confirmed the identities of the deceased, and police have not released any details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The LAPD has opened an investigation, and the case remains ongoing.
