According to new reports, Kyle was taken into custody by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office around 7 PM on Saturday, December 20. He was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center later that night on multiple charges.
The list of Kyle's alleged crimes includes domestic assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, three charges for assaulting a first responder, and resisting arrest. He also faced the music for three charges for retaliation for past actions.
The last charge, per TMZ, meant that Kyle might have harmed or threatened an individual because of their past actions against him. However, the sheriff's office did not share more details about what transpired on Saturday night to warrant Kyle's arrest.
Kyle Chrisley Has A History With The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office

Kyle's arrest marks another heated run-in with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office following his September 2024 drama. At the time, he was taken into custody for aggravated assault and resisting arrest, but regained his freedom to sue Rutherford County and two of its deputies.
According to NewsChanel5, Todd sued Rutherford County and two deputies for nearly $2 million earlier this year. He argued that he was unfairly targeted because of his family name and arrested for a crime he allegedly did not commit.
His attorney, Wesley Clark, shared the same stance, saying: "We believe this is because of who Kyle Chrisley is...someone recognized him and decided they are going to treat him differently because of who he is." The legal rep argued that authorities "turned a blind eye" and unjustly went after Kyle.
The Media Personality Previously Called Out Authorities For His Unjust Arrest
Before filing his $1.7M lawsuit, The Blast reported in September 2024 that Kyle had broken his silence about his arrest on aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges. He aired his grievances against the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and its deputies on Instagram.
Kyle shared his side of the story, explaining that his wife had called the cops seeking assistance from a man who had allegedly been threatening them. However, when the authorities showed up, they arrested Kyle instead because the man claimed he had attacked him.
Todd's oldest son argued that the man had rammed his wife's car, threatened to harm him, and tried to extort money from him. Kyle stressed that he was the victim who did everything within his power to protect his family before the cops showed up.
The Oldest Of The Chrisley Sons Denied Attacking The Man
Kyle claimed the man had accused him of attacking him with a machete despite not owning one. He explained that the responding officers had taken a picture of the knife he had in his home, only for the man to change his tune and allege that the knife was the weapon.
"Please make it make sense, Rutherford County!!!!" Kyle called out the sheriff's office. He doubled down on being the one who called the cops for help, yet they put him in cuffs while the real perpetrator walked free because he alleged he had been cut by a weapon.
Kyle also slammed his resisting arrest charge, stressing that he had only asked why he was getting handcuffed while the man who threatened his family wasn't. He accused Rutherford County of running a shady investigation, insisting on his innocence.
Todd Chrisley Addressed His Complicated Relationship With His Son

Kyle's past run-ins with the law include assault charges for allegedly threatening his former boss with a knife and death threat charges linked to complaints from his ex-wife, Alexus Whilby. These charges have since been dropped, but one case still remains.
The oldest of the Chrisley sons has had a complicated relationship with his father over his past legal troubles and substance abuse battle. The Blast reported in September 2025 that Todd had addressed their issues on "The Chrisleys: Back to Reality."
Todd noted that Kyle had visited him in prison while he and his wife were serving time for bank fraud and tax evasion charges. The patriarch confessed that he never expected the visit or his oldest son's apology for his past mistakes. Nonetheless, Todd wasn't sure if he was ready to reconcile with Kyle.
