Tara Reid Cries Foul Amid Disputed Roofied Claims: 'Affecting My Mental Health'

The actress, who strongly claimed she was drugged during her night out, is about to have her case thrown out due to a lack of evidence. This new turn of events is having a negative toll on her, not just physically, but mentally as well.

Despite this, speaking her truth is something Tara Reid is not backing down on. She openly narrates her side of events, not minding the controversy sparked online as a result.

Tara Reid Insists Her Narrative Is True Despite Police Statement

Investigations by the Chicago Police Department completely shut down Reid's claims of being roofied. According to the department, there is no evidence that her drink was drugged at the hotel last month.

Reid stands by her original statement that she had just one drink, no medications, and woke up in the hospital with no memory of the events that ensued after she took the drink.

She previously disclosed that she woke up hours after having a glass of the wine, which was very strange. What stung her more was the fact that she had no recollection of anything leading to how she ended up in the hospital. 

"Bottom line is, no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over [eight] hours after a drink," she told US Weekly. She further noted that she felt scared and helpless.

The department released a statement where they outlined that, upon reviewing the security footage from the hotel, there was no evidence of Reid's drink being tampered with. They affirmed that a bartender covered her drink, but as standard procedure.

Finally, they revealed in their statement that they are keeping the investigation open and waiting for hospital records to move forward. 

The Actress Wants 'Privacy And Space To Heal'

In her recent statement, Reid expresses the negativity that has followed her ongoing case. She disclosed that her mental health has been affected as a result of online backlash.

"Seeing the media twist my words and attack me for not remembering has been incredibly painful and is severely affecting my mental health," she said.

Furthermore, she says she has been bullied, judged, and faced with great public scrutiny. As she tries to get over the situation, media trolls are a constant reminder, making it difficult for her to heal.

Reid got candid, saying that leaving her house has been a struggle as she is faced with fear. Hence, she asked that her privacy be respected and that people be compassionate in giving her space to heal.

In case you missed it, video footage was obtained on November 24, which showed the actress in an unpleasant condition. As shared by The Blast, Reid was filmed unable to stand without support and speaking incoherently. A man held her upright as people gathered around her.

A woman in the video was seen fetching a wheelchair for the actress, and after she was seated, she was handed a bottle of water. Reid wasn't settled properly in the wheelchair as she slouched and almost fell out.

All these took place before she was taken away to the hospital, where she received treatment and was later discharged.

Surveillance Video Reveals More To The TV Stars' Claims

Reid's statement followed that she had just one glass of wine. She also stated that she felt quite uncomfortable at the hotel because of the people who were around.

In another released surveillance video, she was seen drinking while four men surrounded her. She also looked comfortable and even touched the arm of the man sitting next to her after drinking.

The Blast also notes that she was shown drinking from different glasses of wine brought to her table by two bartenders. This negates her account, where she insisted she had just one glass. As new footage unfolds, controversy sparks online as audiences are now torn between words and proof.

Tara Reid Was Prepared To Fight To The End

Initial reports revealed that the actress was willing to press charges and prosecute even after filing the police report. She also disclosed that she could not file the report the same day because she went back to Los Angeles and was told she couldn't file it from there.

Reid plainly said she was willing to prosecute after detailing her ordeal that night. Even though some parts of her memory of the incident were hazy, she felt she remembered enough to back her claims.

She hoped that the investigations would shed light on her claims and that she would be able to move on from the frightening incident.
