Johnny Depp has been name-dropped in the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, according to newly uncovered court documents containing messages from the actress's husband, Ryan Reynolds.

The Marvel star referenced Depp while discussing the actor's previous lawsuit with his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Johnny Depp isn't the only high-profile figure drawn into the Lively-Baldoni dispute, as Ben Affleck was also recently mentioned in court documents that revealed an email allegedly sent to him by Lively.

Ahead of Lively and Baldoni's trial showdown, more industry big names have surfaced in the suit through newly released legal documents.

The latest appears to be Johnny Depp, who was name-dropped by Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, in text messages he sent to his talent agent, Warren Zavala, in August 2024.

In the texts, Reynolds was discussing PR strategies with the agent in response to what seemed to be a move by Baldoni to sway public opinion amid tensions between him and Lively at the time over their movie "It Ends with Us."

"It's this guy's incredible ego. It feels like he's laying a trap if her truth surfaces while promoting a narrative digitally," Zavala said in the text about Baldoni, per TMZ.

Reynolds then responded, saying, "Yeah. But honestly, someone is just gonna tell a journalist the real deal, and it's gonna blow up in his face."

As the conversation continued, Zavala described Baldoni as a "fraud sh-t weasel" and hoped for him to be "exposed."

He then sent Reynolds a link to a story about Baldoni and Lively feuding over the final edit to "It Ends With Us," and added the remark, "This is all spin. I think we let it burn."

However, Reynolds, in a bid to express his disapproval of Zavala's strategy, then name-dropped Depp and referenced his infamous feud with Heard.

"How'd that work out for Depp??" Reynolds said, to which Zavala replied, "Not well. Cratered both of them ultimately."

Both Reynolds and Zavala also further blasted Baldoni in the messages, using words like "egoistical sh-t weasel" and "human rounding error."

Recently, Ben Affleck also appeared to have been mentioned in the Lively–Baldoni suit, per US Weekly.

This emerged from new court documents claiming that Lively sent Affleck an email in May 2024, in which she appeared to seek his assistance regarding her edit of "It Ends With Us."

In the message, she claimed that she was in a "bake off" with Baldoni and threw shade at the filmmaker, including claiming that he was in a cult.

Lively not only asked Affleck for notes or ideas on her cut, but also urged him to have his then-wife, Jennifer Lopez, watch the film and share her opinions.

It remains unclear whether Affleck ultimately helped Lively, but the absence of any follow-up response from him has seemingly led many to speculate that he snubbed the actress.

The latest court appearance in Lively and Baldoni's case took place on Thursday, Jan. 22, during which lawyers for both sides were given an hour to present their arguments before presiding Judge Lewis Liman.

The two are now scheduled to head to trial on May 18, 2026, more than a month later than the initially set date.

Lively is suing Baldoni for sexual harassment and an alleged targeted smear campaign, which she claims occurred during and after the filming of their movie.

The actress is seeking approximately $160 million in damages, a figure based on alleged lost earnings for herself and her brands, as well as reputational harm.

During a May 2025 hearing, Lively's lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, confirmed that the actress would testify during the Baldoni trial.

"The ultimate moment for a plaintiff's story to be told is at trial," he said. "We expect that to be the case here [with Lively]."

Gottlieb added, "So we would, of course, expect her to be a witness at her trial. Of course she's going to testify."

Ahead of their trial, both Lively and Baldoni have strengthened their legal teams by adding powerful new attorneys.

Lively hired attorney Sigrid McCawley, known for representing Jeffrey Epstein victims, to handle her public and media communications, while Baldoni expanded his defense team by adding attorney Alexandra Shapiro, known for representing disgraced rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs.
