Prince Harry Moves To Fly Under The Radar With No Royal Title For Polo Championship

Prince Harry is already getting comfortable with life without royal titles!
The Duke of Sussex was addressed by his given name while competing in the Snow Polo Championship at Aspen last week. For some time now, the Duke of Sussex has shown his desire to maintain a low profile away from the eye of the press.
Prince Harry stepped down from his royal office along with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020. This was two years after the lovebirds tied the knot. The couple relocated from the U.K. and now lives in California, U.S.A.

Last week, Prince Harry competed in the St. Regis Snow Pole Championship in Aspen. He expressed that he wanted to enjoy the sport with his close friend, a professional polo player, Nacho Figueras.
What caught the eye was the news that the Duke of Sussex was introduced plainly as "Harry Wales." None of his royal titles was mentioned or used to refer to him throughout.
An insider told Page Six that Prince Harry did not want any media attention while participating in the sport. Even while he was off the field, security personnel kept the photographers away from him.
"He was there to play polo with his best friend, Nacho," they noted while explaining that Prince Harry just wanted to have fun with no status strings attached.
Harry & Meghan Held On To Their Status As Duke And Duchess Of Sussex

Despite resigning from their royal duties in January 2020 and dropping the HRH style from their titles, the couple still kept their status as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. This title was bestowed upon them after they tied the knot in 2018 by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Before this Polo Championship, the pair had been referred to by their royal status, with Meghan formally using Sussex as their last name. She disclosed this on the Netflix show "With Love, Meghan," saying it was meaningful that she shares the previous name with her children.
On their official website, there has been no change as their title still stands.
Prince Harry went by Harry Wales while serving in the British military, as per the long-standing royal convention where princes and princesses use their father's territorial designation as a last name. His brother, Prince William, also used Wales as his last name during service.
The Famous Couple Officially Stepped Down From Office In 2020

Harry and Meghan left royal life behind them five years ago, in January 2020. It was shared that their reason for leaving was that they were frustrated and angry about media intrusion.
Their frustration stemmed from the fact that Buckingham Palace prevented them from developing their "SussexRoyal" brand. The duo kept their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, passing on to their children, who are Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.
BBC News shared that Harry and Meghan were thereafter no longer referred to as His or Her Royal Highness, and the Brit gave up his military titles as well.
Is A Reconciliation In Sight For The Couple And The Royal Family?

It is no surprise that the royal resignation and relocation that followed did not sit right with the royal family. In-depth details of this and numerous theories previously made headlines, although Harry had said he would love to reconcile with his father and the rest of the royal family.
In May, Harry lost a legal case where he filed to have complete police protection reinstated for himself and his family when visiting the U.K., despite not being a working senior royal.
The Blast also shares that while Harry visited King Charles a few months ago, they shared a positive and genuine heartfelt moment. The father and son reportedly hugged and shed tears. The Duke also gave his father a framed photograph of his grandchildren during his visit.
Prince Harry's Wife Is Also Estranged From Her Own Father

Not only is Prince Harry at odds with his family, but Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle, also share a bleeding relationship.
There has been news of a family turmoil that has spanned over the years between the father and daughter, with allegations that Meghan's half sister had a hand in their fallout.
The Blast shared that although the chances of reconciliation between Meghan and Thomas are very slim, he has expressed that he does not want to die before they seek out their differences. Thomas has never met his grandchildren, nor has the Duchess of Sussex shared photos with him.
What does the future hold for Prince Harry and the royal family?
