PBS' Shocking New Crime Drama Is the Perfect Successor to Sherlock
Before Sherlock's inevitable decline into self-referential silliness and overwrought twists, it was a pioneering series in mystery and drama television, bringing Arthur Conan Doyle's classic character to modern England. It was difficult portraying an energetically antisocial Sherlock Holmes, but Benedict Cumberbatch did the unthinkable, making him oddly likable to the point of generating a worldwide fandom.
