Actress Nina Dobrev has made headlines for appearing as the lead in “The Vampire Diaries,” where she played no less than three characters. Although she hasn’t been on TV as often since leaving the show, she has still continued to act in several movies throughout the years. However, she has recently made headlines not because of her acting abilities, but due to her love life.

In late November, the actress wore a striped bikini as she celebrated Thanksgiving in Mexico with her friends. Her long dark hair was tied back out of her face, and she hid her eyes behind sunglasses as she held a cup in one hand and a large umbrella in the other.

Her fit figure was on display as she wore a black-and-white striped bikini that highlighted her curves. She was seen taking a dip in the ocean with a friend as the two walked along the beach together, seemingly enjoying the warm weather after the end of her five-year relationship with Olympic snowboarder Shaun White.

Fans are still shocked that Nina and Shaun went their separate ways. They had been all over each other's feeds on Instagram and were often seen showing up to support each other at various red carpet events. They did not hesitate to share their engagement with their fans on social media, which is why many were shocked to see that the pair had broken things off for good ahead of the wedding.

 According to Us Weekly, the two are still in contact as they try to untangle their lives. For example, they had already bought a home together, which is currently under renovation. They are currently working on the “next steps” as to whether or not they plan to sell the home when the renovations are completed.

The couple was last seen holding hands at a farmer’s market in Los Angeles on August 31. The following week, Nina showed up to a movie premiere without her ring. The week after, news broke that Nina was apparently “devastated” that their relationship was over.

A source told Us Weekly that there was no infidelity and the two didn’t disagree on whether or not to settle down to have a family. An insider told the publication that “they both wanted a family,” so it wasn’t a situation where “one wanted [a family] more than the other.”

The two got together shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and spent time isolating together. Shaun popped the question in October 2024, but one insider told the publication that the two had been growing apart since that time.

“There was no drama here. No cheating was involved,” an insider shared. “They were loyal to each other their entire relationship. At the end of the day, they’re human beings, just like everyone else. They genuinely just grew apart and realized they would be better off just as friends and not husband and wife.”
