New Trailer for Guillermo del Toro's 'Cronos' 4K Restoration Re-Release
Cronos Trailer
"You've been reborn." Janus Films has revealed an official trailer for the new 4K restoration of the indie genre film Cronos, which was the very first feature film directed by Mexican master Guillermo del Toro. Cronos first premiered in Mexico in 1992, and later opened in the US in 1994, marking the debut of one of cinema's most beloved genre filmmakers. Del Toro just released his 13th film this year, Frankenstein, and as a look back at his origins, Janus is re-releasing his first in theaters. In 1536, in Veracruz, Mexico, during the Inquisition, an alchemist builds a mysterious and sophisticated device named Cronos to provide eternal life to the owner. This mysterious device resurfaces in modern times after four hundred years, leaving a trail of destruction in its path. This unique vampire tale stars Federico Luppi, Ron Perlman, Claudio Brook, Margarita Isabel, Tamara Shanath. After 33 years since first debuting the indie film now has 88% on RT from critics, described as "a haunting and heartwarming film in equal measure." It will be playing in very limited theaters during its re-release but it's also available on 4K BR via Criterion Collection anyway. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›
