New Animated Series 'Shaun Tan's Tales from Outer Suburbia' Trailer
"Want to make new friends? Come on." ABC Australia has unveiled an official trailer for an animated series called Tales from Outer Suburbia, based on a children's book about moving to the suburbs. I'm always curious about animation and discovering creative new work - this looks like something special already. And considering how huge Bluey has become, it's nice to see another Australian animated series with potential. A clever 'almost 13' year old girl and her younger brother move to Outer Suburbia with their newly single mother. Their summer holiday turns into a series of unexpected & surreal adventures as they adapt to their new reality. "Sometimes it takes a truly strange event to reveal how we feel about our place in the world, and what things we care about most deeply. With Tales From Outer Suburbia, we hope to awaken that fantastic realisation that fiction & reality are never very far from one another... there's really no such thing as 'normal life.'" Adapted from Shaun Tan's bestselling, beloved children's book, it follows the adventures of Klara and Pim - voiced by Brooklyn Davies & Felix Oliver Vergés, with Geraldine Hakewill as their mum. It looks like stop-motion but it's just 3D animation with its own distinct style. Check out the first trailer below. // Continue Reading ›
