NBA Alum Delonte West Arrested Again After Allegedly Robbing Virginia Resident Of Paltry $23

Former NBA star Delonte West is back in the headlines, and it's for all of the wrong reasons.
According to a new report, Delonte West, who joined the league in 2004 and played for teams such as the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, was arrested last month in Virginia after allegedly robbing a victim of a meager $23.
Delonte West Was Arrested For Allegedly Robbing A Virginia Resident Of $23

TMZ first reported the news that West, 42, was arrested in December 2025 in Virginia after he reportedly robbed an individual in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway in Belle Haven.
Law enforcement officers told the publication that a victim called them to report the alleged robbery and an assault, claiming the offender ran away shortly after the incident occurred.
Upon arriving at the scene, police officers located West across the street and later arrested him. He was released from custody on a $1,000 recognizance bond, and the report stated that the ex-baller reportedly stole "around $23" from the victim.
Delonte West Is Due In Court In March 2026

West's attorney, Brandon Sloane, seemingly denied part of the story in a statement to TMZ, sharing that more information about West's alleged involvement in the incident would eventually come to light.
Sloane explained that he was "proud" of West for using this moment as a warning to get professional help. "We all look forward to his continued progress, and Delonte is particularly appreciative of the numerous thoughts and well wishes over the last several weeks," he added.

Delonte West Was Arrested In 2025 For His Own Safety After Officers Received Frightening Call

This, of course, isn't the first time that West has found himself in deep trouble with the law, as he was previously arrested in November 2025 after Fairfax County Police officers received a call that West was unconscious and not breathing.
According to reports, officers made contact with West, who was breathing, and offered to take him to a local hospital for treatment. After refusing the hospital visit, however, the police arrested the former athlete for his own safety, noting that his intoxication level was too high.
Prior to that, West had been arrested a year before and booked for trespassing after allegedly returning to a location he'd been banned from.
And the bad news doesn't stop there. In June 2024, he was arrested and booked on two misdemeanor charges—"violating conditions of release and resisting arrest."
Drama Seems To Be Following NBA Players

Drama seems to be following former and current NBA players everywhere, considering a few have been involved in legal battles related to gambling that could land them behind bars for years.
According to The Blast, former Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter was arrested and charged with wire fraud for reportedly sharing sensitive information with gamblers to make corrupt bets.
While he apologized for his actions, he was handed a lifetime ban from the NBA and slammed by league commissioner Adam Silver for casting a shadow on the "integrity" of the game.
In 2025, Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat was hit with his own federal charges after the Department of Justice alleged the player, along with former NBA player Damon Jones, was involved in an illegal gambling scheme that generated tens of thousands of dollars.
"Former and current NBA players and coaches, including Rozier, Damon Jones and additional co-conspirators, allegedly informed the defendants and others of confidential information relating to upcoming NBA games and player performances, such as pre-release medical information and a player’s intention to alter their upcoming game performance, which favored certain bettors within their inner social circle," a press release read.
Patrick Beverley Arrested And Charged With Felony Assault

In November 2025, former Houston Rockets player Patrick Beverley was arrested and charged with felony assault, impeding breath or circulation, and family violence.
Per The Blast, Beverley paid the $40,000 bond and later denied the allegations in a post shared online.
"Please don't believe everything you see on the internet," he wrote. "Hope all is well. Luv."
Beverly's attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, also released a statement, attempting to shed light on the situation and clear her client's name.
"Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister – a young lady, a minor," the statement read. "Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister."
"However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court," the statement concluded.
