Mickey Rourke has provided an update to the overwhelming response to the GoFundMe account set up earlier this month to stop him from being evicted from his home.

Taking to social media, "The Wrestler" star didn't hold back his less-than-favorable opinion on the fundraiser, which amassed $100,000 since it was created, and explained that the money was in the process of being refunded.

"I am sooo upset & embarrassed about 'SCAM' TO RAISE MONEY FOR ME!! WHICH WAS AS I'VE STATED A CRUEL EMBARRASMENT. OVER 100 THOUSAND $$WAS RAISED BY CONCERNED STRANGERS AND OTHERS. He ended the caption of the post by sending a message of support to fellow actor Eric Dane, who is currently managing his recent ALS diagnosis. "ALL I AM CONCERNED WITH AT THIS MOMENT IS THE HEALTH & WELL-BEING OF MY FRIEND. ACTOR. ERIC DANE. PLEASE SHOOT ERIC SOME "STRONG PRAYERS "PLEASE"!!!!!!!"

"Vicious, cruel godamm lie to hustle money using my f-ckin name so motherf-ckin embarrassing," the actor captioned the post. "There will [be] severe repercussions to [the] individual who did this very bad thing to me, and anyone who knows me knows payback k will be goddamm severe!!!!!!"

According to PEOPLE, a complaint was issued against Rourke on Dec. 29, 2025, for ignoring the Dec. 18 notice requiring him to pay $60,000 in back rent to his landlord, Eric Goldie. He was given three days to pay the amount he owed or be evicted from the property.

When he moved into the property back in March 2025, the rent was reportedly $5,200 per month, but it then increased to $7,000 monthly payment, per documents obtained by the outlet.

In addition to the past due rent, Rourke's former landlord also requested payment of his legal fees and for the rental agreement between the two parties to be forfeited.

In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rourke's long-time manager Kimberly Hines explained the details of starting the GoFundMe and why she believes he publicly denounced the fundraiser.

"We were shocked that the GoFundMe took off. We're like, 'Let's do this little GoFundMe thing. We'll see what happens. This will help Mickey.' And Dima, his assistant, and I were like, 'This is good. It will help Mickey,'" Hines recalled.

"We said, 'Mickey, there's some people that want to help you out.' He's like, 'OK, great.' I don't think he understood, and now it's taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out," she added. "And now it looks bad on us. Nobody's trying to grift Mickey. I want him working. I don't want him doing a GoFundMe."

"The GoFundMe was done for Mickey. It's not going to me. And if Mickey doesn't want this money now and decides, 'I don't want help, it's like it's charity, the money will be returned," Hines told the outlet.

On Jan.10, Hines shared that Rourke has declined multiple film roles since his eviction news went viral because he believed the payment was too low, per TMZ.

In just a few days after the eviction and GoFundMe spread online, Hines said that Rourke received six offers, but is holding out for A-lister movie deals and payment.

The actor is only interested in appearing in productions that pay him a minimum of $200,000 per day, which Rourke is said to believe he is worth, given his lengthy career in Hollywood.
