Dr. Mark Chavez, another doctor involved in the long-running case of Matthew Perry's tragic death, has been sentenced.

Chavez received a relatively light sentence of eight months, along with hundreds of hours of community service. The sentencing comes weeks after Perry's primary doctor, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, was handed a nearly three-year federal prison term.

Three other individuals who are involved in the Matthew Perry case will also receive sentencing in the coming weeks.

For the second time this month, another individual linked to the overdose death of Matthew Perry has received a sentence.

Dr. Mark Chavez was sentenced on Tuesday by United States District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett to eight months' home confinement after the disgraced medical official signed a plea deal with federal prosecutors some months ago.

According to reports, the judge also ordered Chavez to perform 300 hours of community service, which will likely be served after he completes his home confinement.

Chavez was one of the individuals who supplied Perry with drugs weeks before the actor's death.

The drug, which was ketamine, was fraudulently obtained via a false prescription Chavez used at his previous workplace. Chavez then sold it to Plasencia, Perry's main doctor.

Earlier in the month, Plasencia received a steeper sentence for his part in the death of Perry.

He was handed down 30 months in federal prison, and he was taken into custody after the sentencing.

Plasencia was scheduled to go on trial in August but agreed to a plea deal in June that required him to plead guilty to four counts of ketamine distribution.

At the time, he also agreed to surrender his medical license, yet was later allowed to continue practicing under strict conditions.

These conditions included informing his patients of his legal situation and refraining from prescribing controlled medications to them.

Perry is expected to receive further justice in the coming weeks, as the remaining individuals involved in his death are set to be sentenced.

Among them are Erik Flemming, a friend of the late actor, and Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry's live-in assistant. Both have sentencing dates scheduled for January 2026.

While both face a considerable amount of prison time, it pales in comparison to the sentence expected for the final individual in the case, Jasveen Sangha.

Sangha, infamously known as the "ketamine queen," is believed to have been the main supplier of the drugs Perry used.

She pleaded guilty to five of the nine criminal charges against her in September and is scheduled to be sentenced in February 2026.

Ahead of the first sentencing, Perry's mother and stepfather, Suzanne and Keith Morrison, expressed their "grief" over their son's death while condemning those involved in his overdose death.

They labeled these individuals as "greedy jackals" and also singled out Plasencia as "among the most culpable of all."

According to the duo, their son was deserving of a "third act" after his past struggles with substance abuse, but he never got to have it due to the actions of the accused.

The actor's parents highlighted the messages seen in the doctor's phone, which was used as evidence, noting that they broke their vows by consistently selling ketamine to the late Perry.

"No one alive and in touch with the world at all could have been unaware of Matthew's struggles," the Morrisons said. "But this doctor conspired to break his most important vows, repeatedly, sneaked through the night to meet his victim in secret."

Meanwhile, Perry's father and stepmother, John and Debby Perry, also penned an emotional victim impact statement where they heaped praises on the late actor.

"[Matthew was] a warm, loving man who was to be our rock as we aged. An uncle to our grandchildren and the mountain his siblings could turn to. Our next patriarch," the duo wrote.

In their statement, they begged the court to give the doctor a lot of time behind bars, so he could "think about [his] actions."
