Per Us Weekly, during the Wednesday, January 21 episode of Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, “Khloe In Wonderland,” the SKIMS founder revealed that she was happy that things had turned around in her co-parenting journey with West.

“You and Ye have really bonded over North’s producing,” Khloe said to her older sister. “You guys are now in a much better place because of that.”

Kim then detailed how things have been going for the exes and how their daughter, North West, was a large part of it.

“Yeah, I’m a really empathetic person. I mean, at the end of the day, we’re always family,” the reality star said. “I always look at it that way, no matter what’s going on. There are times when I have to be super protective, and there are times when, at any moment, I would love that relationship. I’ve always said that.”

“The music side and the producing isn’t my thing, and that’s her bonding thing with her dad,” Kim said of her 12-year-old's foray into the music world.

“Even just coming up with stuff, we have to communicate about how North moves through that world and all these opportunities that come her way and having to filter that and respecting his opinion on the things that go on with his kids is really important,” she added. “I think it’s important for the kids. You just, kind of, have to put all the other stuff to the side.”

Some have openly criticized Kim's perceived leniency in parenting North, but she told Khloe that she is much more strict when it comes to her younger children, Chicago, 8, and 6-year-old Psalm, than she is with North and 10-year-old Saint.

“I treat my two older kids a little bit [differently]. I have, like, stricter rules for my two little kids,” Kim noted. “So, my two older kids have devices [and] my two little kids don’t. It’s interesting [because[ your first kid [or] your first two kids, they’re growing up without or [you are] figuring it all out together, and then you learn, and you realize you want to maybe do things differently.”

The mogul also spoke highly of her dynamic with her children and their “great relationship” during the podcast. “They love me, they respect me [and] they’re great. Every kid has, you know, phases and have these growing moments and learning moments.”

In an October 2025 interview on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Kim gave a detailed account of her then-strained co-parenting relationship with West.

"Look, it’s not easy, no matter what, co-parenting with anyone. I think that the one thing that just gets me is that there’s this narrative that I keep the kids away from him," Kim said, per TODAY. "I’ve never once done that.

She then expressed her frustrations with the narrative that she purposely keeps their children away from West.

"There’s been so many times where I’ve been like, 'Ah, I just want to show all of these texts. What are you talking about?' Like, we just haven’t heard (from Ye). I beg them to go hang out or things like that."

Kim elaborated on feeling blindsided by West’s rants on social media about their co-parenting relationship when she was under the impression that things were positive between them.

"It’s more of just the narrative that, like, I think it’s all good, and we’re living our life, and then I just wake up, and there’s all these tweets about how I’ve kidnapped the kids," Kim said at the time. "And I’m like, it’s not a kidnapping, it’s a divorce, you know? We can still all be in each other’s lives and have group dinner."

On Thursday, January 16, North released a snippet of her song “Piercing On My Hand (Ye Version” on Instagram, per PEOPLE.

In the song, North raps about her two dermal hand piercings that have been the center of much debate on social media, with critics believing that the 12-year-old is too young for the body modifications.

“Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands," North raps on the song’s first verse. "No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand."

"All my friends are hits, you know I’m not lazy/You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream," she says as the song continues. "I’m not sure I’m crazy/I want more piercings and tats/I love blue hair, put it in some plaits/Put the music to the max/I want like a hundred thousand racks."
