James Van Der Beek Has A Fresh Idea For New Year Resolutions

James Van Der Beek is saving the best for spring!
The actor hopped online to make a case for a full review of the calendar as everyone knows it, and even suggested an entirely new season to celebrate the New Year.
James Van Der Beek spent the past year giving his best to his fight against his cancer diagnosis, which cost him an appearance on the long-awaited "Dawson's Creek" reunion.
James Van Der Beek Promises To Get A New Year's Resolution By Spring

The TV star hopped on his Instagram for a chat session with his fans and followers on why they may feel some resistance in achieving their New Year's resolution.
Van Der Beek claimed that it may have a lot to do with the timing of the new year and how winter somewhat affects productivity and the conduct of nature's business.
"Why are we celebrating a New Year in the dead of winter? Why are we celebrating new beginnings at a time when nature rests? Animals are hibernating, birds fly south for the winter," Van Der Beek declared.
He continued that the best time to "celebrate a new beginning, and a new you and a new resolution, is in the spring at the vernal equinox." According to him, the flowers bloom during this period, and everything gets warmer and brand new with the return of the birds.
Van Der Beek sent a shoutout to Pope Gregory the 8th, who invented the Gregorian calendar system, but also politely disagreed with his grand invention. The actor opined that March should be the first month of the year, while December fits into the 10th position.
The TV Personality Is Heavy On Recovery Through The Winter Season
Van Der Beek's argument resulted in him concluding that winter would be the best time for him to sit back and relax and then pump the gears in spring with a fully energized New Year's resolution.
The actor's brief teaching session left a good impression on the minds of the commenters, especially about his overall health and appearance, as this user wrote, "Looking healthy and strong, brother. Praying for your health."
Another pal of the actor, judging by their comment, praised his wisdom and added that he, alongside the rest of his family, is in their prayers.
"I am with you! On my second round of chemo for triple negative breast cancer, and this weather is perfect for recovery, sending prayers and good vibes," wrote the cancer survivor to the actor, who equally replied with warm wishes.
Van Der Beek's clip has gathered nearly 5,000 comments so far, all agreeing that his theory made sense and sending positive energy the actor's way for a full recovery.
What James Van Der Beek Said About His Slim Figure

In an interview last December, the actor assured fans that his trimmed physique was not one of the effects of his illness, although he was still fighting cancer. The Blast stated that he explained to Craig Melvin of Today that a stomach virus was solely responsible for that situation.
The actor acknowledged that while the fans were right to raise questions about his sudden weight loss, given his cancer, it is also essential to know that the disease exaggerates the effects of even the most common illnesses.
However, Van Der Beek revealed that since he started the recovery process from colorectal cancer, he has learned to take each day as it comes, with a whole lot more patience and tons of discipline. The actor confessed that he has been challenged to show up in ways he never thought he would due to this chapter of his life.
How The 48-Year-Old Raised Funds For His Cancer Treatment

Van Der Beek was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2024, a condition he has managed through intense treatment that also cost lots of money. The Blast noted that the actor and his team decided to sell off some pieces he owned during his time on television and in films to raise more money to continue his treatments.
Van Der Beek collaborated with Propstore for the winter edition of its auction, which was held from December 5-7 last year. There, Van Der Book auctioned off wardrobe items, set pieces, and props from his personal collections over the years.
He also put up the expensive necklace Dawson gifted Joey from prom in "Dawson's Creek" to be auctioned between $26,400 and $52,800. The actor made available several memorabilia from "Varsity Blues," including his game-worn cleats and the iconic West Canaan Coyotes hat.
James Van Der Beek's Family Filled The 'Dawson's Creek' Reunion With His Essence

Van Der Beek was beyond thrilled to attend the reunion for the TV show after 22 years away, but he made the painful decision to step aside just hours before appearing on stage, opting for a visual appearance.
Sources close to the actor revealed that he was utterly disappointed to have missed out on the show because the reunion would have "offered him a change of pace" and a chance to see so many people he loved.
His wife and kids, however, showed up for him on the stage and treated the fans to a very good time by rendering Paula Cole's "I Don't Wanna Wait."
According to a source close to the show, "It was a moment where his illness won briefly, but to see how the event made [fans, as well as] his family feel and to see his daughters sing was such an incredible moment. It gave him a lot of happiness."
Looking forward to James Van Der Beek's spring emergence!
