A pilot for a brand-new coming-of-age comedy series, I Suck at Girls, is in the works at Netflix. Casting is currently underway, according to ProductionWeekly, and filming is expected begin on the pilot in Spring 2026.
I Suck at Girls is an upcoming coming-of-age comedy written by Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker. The pilot is produced by Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Chet Dave, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, and Bill Lawrence, the creator and producer of Scrubs.

Doozer, the studio behind the beloved comedy series Ted Lasso, is producing the pilot with Warner Bros. Television.
Plot details remain limited, but the series centers on three teenagers wrestling with the physical and emotional turbulence of puberty, alongside a father adjusting to the demands of parenthood. One of the teens is a 15-year-old boy and the lifelong best friend of the lead, a physically imposing but deeply insecure presence caught in the messier stages of adolescence. Uninterested in sports, he finds comfort in anime and a fascination with Japanese culture. Prone to pessimism and always expecting the worst, he nonetheless proves to be unwaveringly loyal, offering steady support when his friend needs it most.
The show is the latest pilot to be made at Netflix, a trend that began in 2023 with Little Sky (not picked up to series) and a continuation/reboot of A Different World (which was picked up for series).
Who are the cast members of I Suck at Girls?
At the time of writing, the only cast member listed to star in I Suck at Girls is Christopher Meloni. While the name and details of his role have yet to be announced, we can presume that Meloni will play the father.
Meloni is best known for playing Elliot Stabler on the NBC legal drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit plus the Syfy series Happy! (which Netflix carried for a number of years). He has lent his voice to numerous adult animated titles, including Harley Quinn, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and Solar Opposites.
