Former Child Star Tylor Chase Set To Enter Rehab After 72-Hour Hospital Hold Amid Mental Health Struggles

Former Nickelodeon child star, Tylor Chase, is finally going to get the help he needs, as it has been revealed that he will enter rehab after a short hospital hold.
According to reports, Chase was evaluated by a crisis center that was contacted by Jacob Harris, a barbershop owner in California, who has been vocal about helping the troubled actor.
Tylor Chase previously got help from his former Nickelodeon co-star, Daniel Curtis Lee, who placed him in a motel, which ended up being trashed.
Tylor Chase Will Be Taken To A Rehab Facility After His Hospitalization

In a chat with TMZ, Jacob Harris, the owner of Shipwreck Barbershop in Riverside, California, revealed that plans were in place for Chase to get put into rehab.
Harris, who was first contacted by "The Mighty Ducks" actor, Shaun Weiss, to help locate Chase, said that he visited the former child star for three hours on Christmas Day, describing the visit as the "tipping point."
"I had to do something. I finally found a crisis center that would come out and do an on-site evaluation," Harris told the news outlet.
He explained that after Chase was evaluated by the crisis center, workers concluded that he was in need of "medical attention." This decision led to Chase being taken to a Riverside-area hospital.
Now, the embattled actor is on a 72-hour hold, receiving treatment, after which he will be taken to a rehab facility.
Harris first spoke to the Daily Mail about Chase's hospitalization, saying, "He's in good care now. And the future is looking bright. He just needed someone to actually do something to help."
The Former Child Star Tore Up A Motel Room After Being Checked In By His Nickelodeon Co-Star, Daniel Curtis Lee

On Christmas Day, Daniel Curtis Lee took to social media to share an update about Chase, for whom he had previously gotten a motel room to help remove him from the streets.
Lee was earlier reported to have driven about 50 miles to meet up with Chase after a video of the former child star living on the streets went viral.
However, all that effort now seems to have been of no use, as Chase ultimately appeared uninterested in accepting help.
The troubled actor reportedly tore up the room within hours of checking in, for reasons unknown.
According to Lee, hotel management called to report that the door to the room was ajar, the fridge had been flipped over, and the microwave was in the tub.
It is unclear whether Chase absconded from the location and has returned to living on the streets.
Daniel Curtis Lee Claims Tylor Chase's Family Had Cautioned Against Placing Him In A Motel
Elsewhere in his update, Lee claimed that he had been warned by Chase's family not to place him in a hotel.
The actor noted that the family had cautioned that past experiences of putting the troubled former child star in hotels had not turned out well.
With Chase now repeating the same pattern, Lee expressed the view that there should be other ways to help his former co-star with his seemingly overwhelming personal struggles.
Lee also criticized California and its support systems, saying they are broken to the point that it is extremely difficult to get help for people who clearly need it.
The Former Child Star's Father Shared Details About His Son's Personal Struggles

Recently, an interview with Chase's father, Joseph Mendez Jr., was published by the Daily Mail, in which the former Nickelodeon star's personal struggles were discussed.
"For over a decade, the family has sought treatment options for Tylor, including support for substance use as well as mental health care," Chase's father told the outlet.
"In addition to addiction, Tylor has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, which require consistent medical treatment."
One of the ways the family tried to help Chase was by getting him into rehab in 2021. However, the actor ultimately lost interest in getting clean despite initial progress.
"Approximately four years ago, he received treatment in Georgia, and while there was progress for a time, he later chose to discontinue medication and resumed substance use," the Georgia-based realtor further revealed.
He went on to claim that while Chase has returned to California to seek help, he has "refused ongoing treatment and assistance."
Tylor Chase Claimed He Was Not Homeless

Seeking to gain further personal insight into Chase's struggles, the Daily Mail met with him prior to Lee's intervention. During the interview, Chase claimed he was not "actively homeless," contrary to what many had presumed.
"It's not really like that. I have friends and family. I stay around here locally. My mom is here," he told the news outlet, adding, "I have a lot of good people helping me."
"It's not too shabby. A lot of people help out. It goes a long way," Chase also noted.
Chase went on to double down on his stance that he is not truly homeless, while expressing his gratitude to those who have helped him.
"I have family and friends, and the housing shelter assistance program. There's graceful charity from the grace of God's family people. That's a pretty chill aspect of it all. It's a true privilege, obviously," he added.
At the time, Chase also refuted claims that he had mental health conditions. However, he admitted to taking medications such as "Prozac, Adderall, Sudafed, and Wellbutrin," which he said had been prescribed by a psychiatrist.
