Ezra Sosa Hilariously Addresses Engagement Rumors With Jordan Chiles

Ezra Sosa is shutting down engagement rumors (with humor). The "Dancing with the Stars" pro responded to viral speculation that he’s secretly engaged to his season 34 partner, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, by leaning all the way into the chaos on TikTok. Sosa and Chiles were paired together during season 34 of "Dancing with the Stars," quickly becoming fan favorites thanks to their chemistry and high-energy performances. The duo ultimately finished in third place, behind Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy in second, and winners Robert Irwin and Witney Carson.

In a December 28 video, the 25-year-old dancer shared a screenshot of an online article claiming he and Chiles were headed for the altar. Instead of issuing a serious denial, Sosa opted for comedy. Shirtless and smirking, he slipped on a pair of black sunglasses, blew a kiss to the camera, and let the moment speak for itself.
He captioned the clip simply: “Plot twist of the mf century.”
Sosa And Chiles Troll Rumors With ‘Just Married’ Tattoos

As if the first TikTok wasn’t enough, Sosa and Chiles doubled down on trolling the engagement rumors with a follow-up joke that sent fans spiraling all over again.
In a second video, the duo revealed they had gotten “just married” tattooed on their bodies, clearly meant as a clapback to the speculation. Sosa captioned the post, “keeping the tradition,” a nod to his habit of getting tattoos after each "Dancing with the Stars" season.
Last year, following his partnership with Anna Delvey, Sosa famously got the word “Nothing” tattooed in honor of Delvey’s one-word response when asked what she took away from her "DWTS" experience.
Ezra Sosa Has Been Open About Who He Is
While his close bond with Chiles fueled online speculation, Sosa has been open about his identity. The professional dancer publicly came out as gay in 2022 and has since spoken candidly about growing up gay in a religious household, finding acceptance through "DWTS," and celebrating what he recently called his “three years around the gay sun.”
"Being part of this community has shown me what it really means to be proud: to be brave enough to show up as yourself, even when it’s hard," he wrote. "Pride isn’t just a celebration. It’s a reminder that being you is the greatest superpower you have."
Sosa And Chiles Say Their Bond Is All Support, No Romance
Despite the rumor mill, Sosa and Chiles have consistently described their relationship as platonic and deeply supportive. Last month, the pair spoke with PEOPLE after earning a perfect 30/30 score during the show’s November 18 episode, which was Chiles’s first perfect score in any competition.
“That’s my first perfect score in anything,” Chiles said at the time. “And I’m so happy it was on 'Dancing with the Stars.' Now I actually feel more confident in myself of getting a perfect score in my sport.”
She didn’t hold back when praising her partner. “He is such an amazing partner. Words can’t describe the journey that we’ve been on,” she said. “Thanks for always being there by my side.” Sosa echoed that sentiment, celebrating the milestone and their shared run to the finale.
Ezra Sosa Defends Jordan Chiles Against ‘Mean Girl’ Claims
Earlier in the season, Sosa publicly defended Chiles after online critics labeled her a “mean girl,” calling the claims completely false. In an October 10 Instagram video, he described their dynamic as “very much a brother and sister” relationship and made it clear he wasn’t backing down from defending her.
“I’ll always have your back,” he told Chiles in the clip.
“She is truly a remarkable person, and I’m so, so grateful that she came into my life,” Sosa added. “We’re allowed to be our own individual selves… and we’re on this journey together and it is so special.”
At the end of the day, Sosa and Chiles are proving that not every headline needs a love story because sometimes it’s just two close partners having fun and supporting each other.
