Donald Trump's 'Cruel' Mockery Of Rob Reiner's Death Draws Backlash As He Blames It On 'TDS'

Donald Trump has raised eyebrows after coldly attributing Rob Reiner's death to "Trump Derangement Syndrome," a term coined by the politician for people critical of his actions.
The president made the comments on his social media platform, Truth Social, and has since drawn mixed reactions online, due to the way the beloved Hollywood star passed away.
Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were both found dead at the Los Angeles home, with reports claiming they were killed by their son, Nick.
Donald Trump Mocks Rob Reiner's Death: 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'

Trump didn't have any sympathy to spare for the late Reiner, after he and his wife were found dead at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home, with the investigation indicating it was an "apparent homicide."
The president made some shockingly jarring remarks about the actor on Truth Social, claiming Reiner and his wife died "due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."
Trump then went on to claim that Reiner's "obsession" with affected others, and that the actor's "paranoia" worsened due to his administration allegedly succeeding and reaching all the goals they set since coming into power early this year.
"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before," the president stated, concluding with, "May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"
The President Has Come Under Fire For His 'Cruel' Remarks

Trump was swiftly slammed online for his words, with many branding the president "heartless," "cruel," and "disgusting."
Political commentator Brian Krassenstein wrote on X: "This is the most disgusting Post Donald Trump has ever made."
Another noted, "If Biden woke up and said this about a conservative that was just killed by their son, he would be impeached the next day. But because we now live in the twilight zone, this will just be normalized, and we'll move on."
"This is expected from a man who said a congresswoman's dead husband might be looking up from hell," another person noted about Trump's history of disparaging remarks.
One more person said, "Regardless of politics, using someone's death to make a joke or a political point is just bottom-of-the-barrel behavior. We've lost the script on basic human decency if this is considered acceptable discourse."
Rob Reiner Spoke Out Against Donald Trump

A few months ago, Reiner sat down for an interview with CNN anchor Brianna Keilar about the suspension of comedian Jimmy Kimmel in September.
At the time, the "Harry Met Sally" director was taken aback by Kimmel's suspension, warning that the effect may be far-reaching on free speech and First Amendment rights.
He shared his thoughts on speaking out against President Donald Trump and FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, telling Keilar: "This may be the last time you ever see me because ... there's only a couple of us that are speaking out in this hard way."
Reiner continued, "And I, we, hope and we know that there will be others. And so I don't think you can destroy a whole industry."
The Actor Said We Are 'In A War Right Now For Our Democracy'

Reiner went further to insist that there was a growing need to protect First Amendment rights before weighing in on Kimmel's suspension by ABC and Disney.
"I'm a friend of Jimmy's. And what happened to him is unconscionable. It just can't happen," he said.
The comedian was temporarily suspended after commenting on how the "MAGA gang" was "desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them" and of trying to "score political points from it".
Reiner, at the time, said the situation went beyond just Kimmel's incident, saying Trump has "declared war on democracy."
"We're in a war. We're in a war right now for our democracy," the actor insisted. "Trump has declared war on this democracy. He throws people out of the country without due process. He takes funds that were appropriated by Congress, refuses to distribute them, in clear contradiction to the Constitution, the separation of powers."
Rob Reiner And His Wife Were Found Dead In Their LA Home

Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner Singer were reportedly found dead by their daughter Romy in their L.A. home on Sunday afternoon.
According to People Magazine, calls first came through to the Los Angeles Fire Department regarding the sad incident around 3:30 pm, before first responders found the couple lifeless.
What's more shocking is that reports suggest they were killed by their son, Nick, but the motive is yet to be confirmed.
Nick has previously spoken to the news outlet about his struggles with drug addiction, which rendered him homeless at some point.
