Deep Family Rifts Make Reconciliation Unlikely For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, Experts Warn

Experts claim Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to reconcile with their ailing fathers as family rifts persist.
A royal commentator shared that the duchess and her father, Thomas Markle, will never reunite, citing years of turmoil and failed communication despite his recent amputation. Meanwhile, Harry remains estranged from King Charles and other senior royals following the couple's 2020 exit.
Other royal experts argue the emotional damage is too deep between the Sussexes and the royal family, with trust and past grievances making meaningful reconciliation unlikely.
Royal Experts Warn Wounds Are Too Deep For Sussex Family Reconciliation

As tensions within the royal family continue, experts remain skeptical about the likelihood of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reconciling with their ailing fathers.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital that "Meghan and her father will never reconcile," adding that a letter reportedly sent by Meghan, though unconfirmed, signals her reluctance.
He pointed to long-standing family turmoil, including allegations that Meghan's half-sister orchestrated staged paparazzi photos ahead of the royal wedding, triggering a fallout with Thomas Markle.
"Her relationship with her father — a tragedy for both of them — is nothing short of a mess," Fitzwilliams described.
His comments followed reporting by The Times of London, which suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex face slim chances of repairing what the outlet described as "deeply damaged" relationships with their fathers.
Thomas Markle, Meghan's father and a former Hollywood lighting director, recently underwent a left-leg amputation and reportedly expressed that he does not want to die estranged from his daughter.
Around the same time, King Charles III announced that early detection of his cancer would allow doctors to reduce his treatment in the coming year.
Experts Say Mistrust Continues To Block Sussex Family Reconciliation

Weighing in on the Sussexes' rift with their fathers, royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that the emotional damage on both sides remains too deep, particularly during the holiday season, for meaningful reconciliation to take place.
She said she does not expect any genuine peace between the Sussexes and their fathers, given the scale of the rifts involved.
Fordwich added that Harry's meeting with the king appeared driven more by constitutional duty and basic paternal decency than by a true desire to rebuild their bond.
"Even within royal households, there are differing views among courtiers, but there is unanimity regarding the Sussexes causing stress among all," she said. "Therefore, family relationships will remain fragile, at best."
From the monarchy's perspective, Fordwich emphasized, "preserving the future of the monarchy and stability" takes precedence, and trust remains a major obstacle.
Kinsey Schofield, host of YouTube's "Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered," echoed similar doubts, stating she does not believe Meghan has any "genuine interest in repairing her relationship with her father."
Schofield also questioned Harry's commitment to reconciling with the royal family, pointing to his recent public appearances as evidence.
Meghan Markle Struggled To Reach Her Ailing Father After His Surgery

Despite Thomas's health crisis, efforts at communication with Meghan have reportedly been strained.
The As Ever founder is said to have attempted to contact her father, but her calls and emails went unanswered.
She has also not shared photos of her children, whom Thomas has never met. According to reports, he first disclosed news of his condition to the press rather than to his children, a move that further complicated any chance of reconciliation.
Meghan has been estranged from her father since marrying Harry in 2018. According to People magazine, she attempted to reach Thomas during his recent health emergency, but her calls and emails were unsuccessful.
Additional reporting from the Daily Mail claimed Meghan did not have her father's phone number and that he does not use email. People Magazine further reported that Meghan contacted multiple hospitals in an effort to locate him.
Prince Harry Remains Estranged From Royal Family

Meanwhile, Harry remains distant from his own family. He will not be spending Christmas with the royal household, and reports indicate he has not spoken to Charles since their brief reunion in September.
He is also said to be out of contact with Prince William and Kate Middleton. A London-based source dismissed suggestions that Harry and his father are currently communicating, calling such claims "laughable."
In response to the reports, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex described the coverage as "entirely speculative," adding that the couple would not comment publicly on their private family relationships.
The Duke And His Wife Quit Their Roles As Working Royals

Harry's own estrangement from the royal family dates back to 2020, when he and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals and relocated to California.
In the years that followed, the couple spoke openly about their grievances in televised interviews, documentaries, and Harry's 2023 memoir, "Spare."
These moves by the duke and his wife revealed deeply personal details about royal life and further strained family ties.
