Chelsea Handler Weighs In On Ashley Tisdale's ‘Toxic Mom Group’ Drama, Picking Sides

Chelsea Handler has given her two cents on the recent drama that unfolded in Ashley Tisdale’s group of mom friends.
The comedian made it clear that although she doesn’t really know Tisdale, she knows some of the other members, who she described as “wonderful.”
This comes shortly after Tisdale opened up about her decision to leave the celebrity moms' group because she felt excluded by some of its members.
Chelsea Handler Defends Mandy Moore In Recent Mom Group Drama

During a chat, Handler was asked to weigh in on the drama that went down in the mom group, which includes Tisdale, Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor.
The 50-year-old actress defended Moore, saying that while she doesn’t know the full details of the incident, she can vouch for Moore’s character.
“I have no idea what went on, but I know Mandy Moore, and she’s a wonderful, sweet person. So I’ll just say that. But I don’t really know Ashley Tisdale,” Handler said.
“And I don’t say it with disdain in the way I just said it. But I don’t know Ashley Tisdale, so I would like to be transparent. And I do like Meghan Trainor as well,” she added.
Handler shared that while she has never been part of a mom group before, the drama involved in it sounded “awful” and added to a list of reasons not to have children.
“You’re out of school, you’re a mother, and you have to deal with that dynamic and being excluded again as an adult woman. No, thank you,” she told Page Six Radio.
Ashley Tisdale Exposed Her Mom Group For ‘High School’ Drama

Handler’s statements came on the heels of Tisdale’s decision to walk out of her mom group following a string of events that made her feel left out.
In an essay published by The Cut, Tisdale bared it all out, revealing that she was being left out of certain events in the group and only found out about them on social media.
“I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” she wrote, per The Blas.
At first, the “Phineas and Ferb” actress brushed it off as nothing. However, over time, she realized that it had become too childish, and as such, she wanted out.
“This is too high school for me, and I don't want to take part in it anymore," she explained.
Hilary Duff’s Husband Responded To Ashley Tisdale’s Post

After Tisdale exposed her mom group drama, Duff’s husband stepped into the conversation. According to The Blast, he shared a picture of himself photoshopped onto Tisdale’s body, mocking her pose from the shoot she did for her essay in The Cut.
He also threw shade at Tisdale, adding a mocking headline that read, “When You're The Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers. A Mom Group Tell All Through A Father's Eyes.”
In the caption, he further wrote, “Read my new interview with @TheCut.”
Haylie Duff Seemingly Sided With Ashley Tisdale Amid The Drama

Hillary Duff’s husband wasn’t the only family member to get involved in the drama. Her sister, Haylie, also stepped in after she seemingly took sides with Tisdale.
As The Blast reported, Haylie liked Tisdale’s joint post with “The Cut,” which promoted the essay where she spoke about leaving her “toxic friends” behind.
The two sisters, Hilary and Haylie, have been suspected of being at odds with each other for a while now. In 2023, a Reddit thread shed light on some fan theories that speculated one of the reasons they fell out was due to Haylie’s support of right-wing ideologies.
Tisdale Reportedly Left Her Mom Group Due To A ‘Misalignment Of Values’
As the feud continues to brew between Tisdale and the other members of her mom group, more information surfaced, revealing that the 40-year-old mother of two walked out because there was a misalignment of values between her and the group.
According to The Blast, a source noted that the breakup was a result of “a misalignment of values that Ashley decided to make public."
The source added that Tisdale opened up about the happenings in the friend group because she wanted the public to know that “toxic behavior isn’t acceptable.”
