Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are cool as a cucumber with CNN.

The famous couple is reportedly not upset with the network after their son's underwhelming outing on CNN's Scott Jennings show and has no plans to blacklist them either.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas' son, Dylan Douglas, was in a conversation with the conservative pundit on NewsNight last month to discuss the government shutdown in the United States.

The actress and her husband responded to claims that they were upset with the news outfit after their son, Dylan, engaged Scott on Newsnight. A rep for Catherine noted that the rumor that the couple was boycotting CNN is news to them.

The rep emphasized that the couple wholeheartedly support accurate reporting, a virtue the rumors do not entirely portray. Dylan's representative explained to Entertainment Weekly that he has no problem going on CNN or even watching the network.

Catherine and Michael's son, Dylan, has carved a niche for himself in the show business as an actor and a producer, who also hosts SiriusXM's "Young American." He has also appeared in some movie projects, including the psychological thriller "I Will Come to You."

A source close to the couple claimed that they hated every second of the way CNN stripped their son of the golden boy status, who has enjoyed being adored and protected all his life. The source shared that he has never been spoken to like that all his life.

The Blast stated that the couple is so angry with the media house, and they are considering blacklisting the whole network, phasing them out of their itinerary moving forward.

Catherine would reportedly not keep quiet about how unfair and exploitative the interview was and how it left her son incoherent at answering the questions that were being rushed at him.

The couple felt the interviewer crossed the line, and their son went into that program completely unprepared for a debate of that nature.

The interview took place on Monday night, where Dylan and Scott rehashed the news of the Senate passing a funding bill to reopen the government. As the conversation progressed, Dylan and Scott evidently picked sides on who to blame for the shutdown of the government for such a long period.

While Dylan's hands found the Republican party members guilty of the shutdown, Scott claimed the protracted process had the Democrats' name written all over it.

Jennings soon went on the offensive by pulling out statistical figures and facts, leaving Dylan without defence and unable to contribute significantly to the discourse.

The conversation switched gears into the Affordable Care Act tax credits, which the Democrats have tagged as being responsible for why the funding bill would not be passed. Unfortunately for Dylan, his performance on the show was abysmal as he appeared clueless about what to say.

The reaction that trailed the interview left Jennings feeling very shocked, prompting him to consider tendering a heartfelt apology to Catherine and her family. As shared by The Blast, the interviewer explained that he would personally apologize to the actress over a "nice seafood dinner if she wants to do it."

He described their encounter as relatively normal, and Dylan was able to make his Democratic talking points, and he rightfully countered those claims, which was not an uncommon occurrence on television.

Jennings emphasized that the young Dylan was a great guest who maintained kindness off-air and even felt honored to be on the program. He weighed in on Catherine and Michael's reaction to the interview, stating:

"I think that what happens with some of these folks is that they exist in a very tight little bubble. They never really talk to Republicans or conservatives."

Jennings noted that the actress and her husband also "don't really get outside of their bubbles, where people tell them how smart and good-looking they are."

Back in August, reports filtered out that the couple had hit a sharp bend in their over two-decade-old romance due to Michael's decision to draw the curtain on his entertainment career.

Catherine, who reportedly had no issue with him taking a final bow from his career, was reportedly unimpressed with the amount of free time they had together. According to a source:

"She's not begrudging him the right to give up his career, but knows it means they'll spend more time together, and she's not going to get the quiet and peace of mind she likes."

Their marriage has reportedly survived this long due to the healthy space they have learned to give each other over the years. At one point, the couple were reportedly living in separate houses, and Catherine especially preferred the arrangement.

"She'd like more space, but she's not going to get it, and he'll be around needing her to take care of him," the source added. Catherine has tried to devise a means for them to stay apart by encouraging him to attend events alone or travel.
