Anthony Anderson Gives Political Answer To Dating Question 2 Years After His Divorce

Anthony Anderson may have taken another dive into the dating pool. At least that's what his recent move suggests!
The actor is keeping fans guessing when it comes to the status of his romantic life post-divorce. A lot of rumors sparked in the previous year on the subject, yet nothing has been confirmed.
Anthony Anderson finalized his divorce from his ex-wife, Alvina Stewart, in 2023 after 22 years of marriage. The former couple began dating in their early college days, tied the knot in 1999, and share two children between them.
Anthony Anderson Dodges Dating Question

Anderson stepped out, looking fabulous in a classic tuxedo and bowtie, walking hand in hand with Rocsi Diaz, who looked elegant in a gorgeous floral dress. The pair were seen leaving the Golden Globes on Sunday outside of Wolfgang Puck's Spago in Beverly Hills.
TMZ caught up with them for a quick chat and dropped the million-dollar question, "Are you dating?" to which Anderson responded diplomatically, "She's my date for the evening."
The duo being spotted on a number of intimate outings last year raised relationship whispers. Anderson, however, held on to the fact that they have been friends for almost twenty years.
The Actor And The TV Host Reportedly Go Way Back

Anderson was spitting facts when he said they have known each other for decades. The pair had obvious chemistry when Anderson was a guest on "106 & Park" back when Diaz was hosting the BET talk show.
At that time, they only let friendship thrive because the "Black-ish" star was still married to his then-wife, Alvina Stewart.
Now that the marriage is over, the timing seems right for the past chemistry to resurface and take root. Although nothing has been confirmed or debunked from both ends, Anderson insists, "Friends are always friends."
The 'Black-ish' Star Previously Shared That He Was In A Relationship

The same year his divorce was finalised, BET reported that the actor was in a new relationship. Without sharing names and other details, Anderson revealed that he had a new girlfriend who was getting along smoothly with his mother.
The TV star continued that this was not a new occurrence, as his mom, Doris, has always been keen on knowing whoever he was in a relationship with. Anderson added that over the years, his mom always gave them space, but with his new girlfriend, she was all in, asking for details.
He shared further that his new partner and his mom had become friends, recalling a time when Doris called her up to ask about where to get a new wig.
Inside The Golden Globe Nominees' Divorce

Stewart first filed for divorce in 2015 but later dismissed the divorce petition in 2017. She cited irreconcilable differences and listed their separation date as April 1, 2014.
Five years later, she filed for divorce once more, citing irreconcilable differences again and seeking spousal support and attorney fees. Days later, Anderson filed for a dissolution of marriage.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, the TV star was to pay his wife over $4 million in settlement and spousal support of $20,000, which is subject to increase.
They spotted their property, including the houses and cars, and agreed that since they would not be buried together, they would sell their double plot at Inglewood Park Cemetery. Child support was off the table as their two kids, Kyra and Nathan, were already adults.
Anthony Anderson's Mother Had A Great Influence On His Life And Career

Anderson had been open about his tight-knit relationship with his mother. He previously honored her as they debuted their travel show "Anthony Anderson and Mom: European Vacation" on E!.
"I thought it was a great way to celebrate my mother and honor her in that way because of the sacrifices that she made for me," the "G20" star previously said in an interview.
During black history month in 2024, Anderson opened up about the moment that changed his life. He recalled seeing his mother rehearsing "A Raisin in the Sun" as a nine-year-old and realizing his life's calling.
From then on, he felt pushed to influence the lives of his children and other people watching him on-screen through the roles he took on TV shows.
