Angelina Jolie Makes Major Move With LA Home As She’s Reportedly ‘Ready’ For ‘Flexibility’

Angelina Jolie's long-rumored relocation plans are very much alive and gaining momentum. 

The "Couture" star's decision to leave the U.S., which has been circulating since August, appears to be taking a new turn as her Los Angeles home edges closer to a sale.

Amid preparations for her departure, the “Salt” star is also opening up about her health journey, reflecting on surviving a preventive breast cancer treatment.

In what appears to be another step toward the “Maria” star's exit from the U.S, her residence is reportedly being shown to pre-qualified buyers after undergoing several renovations.

A source told PEOPLE Magazine that Jolie is actively preparing for a major shift in her lifestyle. “She's ready for a life that isn't centered in Los Angeles,” the insider shared.

They continued, explaining that “there are a lot of projects she's excited about and she's feeling good. She's looking forward to 2026 and the flexibility she'll have then.”

Although Jolie has remained tight-lipped about her move, she has previously suggested that she has little desire to remain in the states, alluding to her discomfort with the current political atmosphere.

As The Blast previously reported, Jolie touched on her mindset during a September press event for her recent film, carefully sidestepping direct political commentary. She stated that she "loves her country, but at this time, I don't recognize my country."

She continued, "I've always lived internationally. My family is international. My life, my worldview, is equal [and] united. Anything, anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms [for anyone] I think is very dangerous.”

While Jolie's desire to leave the country is now a topic of discussion, the move was reportedly on her mind for a while but was postponed due to her divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt. 

The 50-year-old actress is said to have stayed in America to easily manage custody arrangements for their children. However, with their twins set to turn 18 next year, Jolie has now decided the time is right to move forward with her relocation.

As of August, reports indicated that she had begun making arrangements to sell her well-known estate.

The historic property, once owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, dates back to 1913 and sits on more than two acres of land.

Sources have also shed light on how the “Eternals” actress views the change, suggesting it has put her in a positive frame of mind.

 "You can really feel a shift in Angelina recently; she's lighter and more at ease," one insider shared of the Oscar Winner, per The Blast. "She'll always love L.A., but she feels it has served its purpose. She's ready for her next chapter."

Jolie is said to be weighing destinations that hold deep personal and emotional significance, including Cambodia, where she maintains a residence, as well as France and parts of Africa, where she has family and friends.

Although the “Maleficent” star has yet to disclose any specific destination, a source has pushed back against reports that she is planning a permanent move overseas.

According to The Blast, the insider claimed that while Jolie enjoys traveling and spending time in different parts of the world, if she were ever to change her primary base, New York would be the most likely option.

The individual added that the city holds particular appeal for Jolie because many of her business interests are rooted there, making it a practical choice.

As Jolie looks ahead to the future, she is also unafraid to reflect on her past.

In a recent cover story with TIME France, the actress opened up about the physical scars from her 2013 preventive double mastectomy, using the moment to raise awareness about breast cancer.

As The Blast reported earlier, Jolie chose to undergo the surgery after discovering she carried the BRCA gene mutation, which greatly increases the risk of developing breast cancer. She later had reconstructive surgery following the procedure.

During the interview, Jolie emphasized the importance of improved healthcare for women, advocating for greater access to information and resources that help women understand their cancer risks and make informed decisions.
