Super Mariohas always been one of the friendliest, most jovial franchises in gaming, but this panel from the 1996 manga shows a much darker version of Mario's cheery world. It's a long-forgotten moment in the Mario franchise, and it makes sense, because it doesn't fit Mario's message whatsoever.
